I am looking for a good vegan white sauce recipe for pasta using the Daiya provolone slices? Any ideas?
When I make creamy mac and cheese, we use Daiya's cheddar wedges or slices and add them to our basic roux. Depending on how much you need to make, start with a regular roux: melt 4 tbs vegan butter in a small saucepan. Once it's melted, stir in 6 tablespoons of all purpose flour. Whisk in one cup plain almond milk. Take your Daiya slices and break them into small pieces. Stir into the white sauce until melted. Add as many slices as you want (the more, the thicker the sauce will be).
